 so……..we went to daydream festival… it was prettttttty SICK

i saw clinic (they were tight) and m83(they were REAL tight) and then radiohead(obvi they were real tight) but the excitement came out of the afterparty.

the ‘official’ afterparty was held at a club calllled razzamatazz. its one of those places that ive never been to that is like 4 floors and has like 6 different rooms etc. well i was pretty shlammered and some cute british (black) girl asked me for a light. to light her spliff. we we ended up hanging out most of the time. her and her two friends were flying out the next day and didnt have a place to stay. sooooo……….

connor and i being the gentlemen that we are decided to hang out with them all night. we left the club around 5;30 and decided to just start walking towards our hostel. so like 1.5 hours later we arrived near our hostel. i had a croissant at the market and then decided to go to bed around 8. its a shame because KASS was jonesin all up all over me(that may or may not be an egoistical statement). but i am sure its true.

everyone here thinks i am spanish. its weird. kass’s friends thought i was spanish until i started talking about being an american asshole. so connnns and i woke up around four and got some tapas. we are going to the beach tomorrow. ill seee LOTS of titties. ill try to take some stealthy pictures for my hornball(growing pains reference)fans out there. see u guys later!!!!

so turns out connor showed up at two. but i didnt think he was getting here until 9/10   so i just wondered around by myself for like eight hours. and i had no idea what time it was. i had to take a picture with my camera and then add 7 hours to the timestamp. well, turns out that the timestamp was wrong, so i was an hour off most of the day. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
I think my friend described their live show best as “clap your hands say meh.” I have seen them twice before and although this show was better than the last (THEY WERE TERRIBLE AT BONNAROO ‘06) it was still just ‘meh.’ I was a big fan of their first album, but never really cared enough to get into their second. I missed an opportunity to see them in a club last year, and kind of regret it. Although their show essentially sucks at a festival, I assume their show in a nice cluttered club atmosphere would be pretty fun. What really bothered me about both of the shows I have seen, was the crowds uncanny ability to take the band’s name WAY too literally. Anytime it was possible, the rhythmically challenged in the crowd would clap their hands way above their heads until they got so off beat even they realized it.

Fall Out Boy
Did Fall Out Boy make the Myspace generation or did the Myspace generation make Fall Out Boy? I was sitting down listening to the show from a far, but I can only imagine how many ‘myspacers worth blogging about‘ were rawkin’ their scene little hearts out. I really hate that bassist guy. Supposedly he broke his ankle on stage! He attributed it to rocking out too hard. Also, they covered MR. BRIGHTSIDE. HAHAHA. Not only did they cover a hilariously decent song, but they did it terribly. I was listening intently trying to hear some remnants of the actual song, but they just muddled it up with their dumb vocals, dumb instrumention, and dumb hats.

The Black Crows
I thought that the Black Crows and Wilco would have a similar fan base, so i decided to get a spot before the Black Crows. Does anyone know anyone that listens to the Black Crows? I honestly thought no one listened to them and they survived solely on Chris Robinson’s brief stint with the tabloids and that one cover song they had in the 90s. But No. There are a TON of hardcore Black Crows fans. Man, they were soo LOUDBORING. Its not like they didn’t play loud enough or rock hard enough - it was just generic 60s rock with a little jamband thrown in the mix. Chris Robinson does a great Robert Plant impersonation.

Wilco
I’ve seen Wilco once before, and they were great. At Voodoo, they were totally great. I haven’t listened to the new one yet, but they played all the old favorites. The rendition of “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart” was definitely one of the best. They also played my two favs from Being There - “Got you” and “Misunderstood” opener. They were great. Possibly the best show all weekend.
